![]() Send your specialists outside your colony and into a procedurally generated world. Outfit your specialists with gear to defend the colony from attacking bandits and rampaging wildlife. Recruit over 80 unique specialists, each with their own skills and motivations, to manage your colony’s resources. Stay prepared, a natural disaster or environmental catastrophe can doom an ill-equipped settlement. Construct more than 130 buildings and survive a harsh world filled with danger. Go beyond the colony and explore the wastelands to gather resources, meet rival colonies, and uncover the world’s secrets.īuild and manage a colony of survivors after a world-ending event. I probably won't play another game until more DLC comes out, but my level of excitement for that is huge even though the replayability right now isn't keeping me interested.Survive and thrive in a post-apocalyptic future - resources are scarce, but opportunity calls! Build the ultimate disaster proof colony, protect your colonists, and restore civilization to a devastated world. However, sim games tend to come out somewhat vanilla these days because of so many components that have to be added, so they depend on DLCs to counter that. Once you have a fully functioning colony, those things become major annoyances instead of help.Īll that being said, I love the game. It would be nice to have an option to turn off merchants at the gate, survivors begging to come in, etc. The way it is done in this game is so monotonous and boring. ![]() What I mean by this is, in sim games, devs have to find ways for you to get trickle resources in case you make a big mistake or just can't seem to find resources and you struggle to survive. Also, they sprinkle in so many game balancing techniques that it negatively impacts gameplay. Omg.after the first few you can tell it was a huge afterthought for the devs. The biggest downside is the monotony of quests/visitors. I'd also like to see a lot more build-up and story with other colonies and with the overall groups of people mentioned in the quests. Something like designating their importance based on their longetivity with the colony, reputation based on what they do in the colony and in the world, etc. I'd like to have had something to immortalize him more, like a statue, but I can see a need for more story around them. I'd like to see more immersion with the Specialists as I found myself imagining my own story lines, like having my first one die on day 121 because of my own fault but I considered him my "founder". I think this game has a good amount of stuff but I am looking forward to what they release next for it. Since I have played sim games since the first Simcity was released, I tend to go very fast. I'm a huge fan of Surviving Mars so I knew I'd have to play this game. ![]() It's not perfect but at times things get so busy you have to pause just to go between the colony and the overworld, which I found fantastic. StA does a great job by using the overworld as a part of the game. ![]() Ever since Actraiser on the SNES, I've longed for a game where simulation is only part of a game. My absolute favorite is how they made it 2 games in one and did it successfully for the most part. This game has a mix of Surviving Mars and Banished. There are some annoyances and things that seem to be standard with survival/sim games that this doesn't have, but nothing that makes the chase any less fun. I played one play-through and overall I'm very happy with this game.
